| Chief Instructor Master Kevin Jervis 6th Dan |
Master Jervis began his Taekwondo training in Norwich back in 1972 under Master Young Kuon 6th Dan, who sadly died a few years ago. Mr Kuon as he was often referred to was one of the first Koreans to bring Taekwondo to England. Master Jervis usually trained under his guidance 6 days a week for almost 4 years before Mr Kuon returned to Korea in 1976. Master Jervis was the first student Mr Kuon had taken from novice to black belt and he was often referred to by him as his Taekwondo son. Master Jervis was open British Champion in the 1980s at both Welter weight and Middle weight in WTF style Olympic competitions. He retired from fighting due to injury in 1991 but during his fighting career he was a member of the British squad for 8 years, beat 9 British Champions in WTF style competitions and fought abroad for the British squad. He has also beaten a World WTF silver medalist and an Olympic bronze medalist. He also fought in a five member British team in an International competition involving the Korean team and took the Bronze medal. Two members of his team had previously represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympics in Korea. In 2000 he won the British Poomse (patterns) Championships and went on to represent Great Britain at The European Taekwondo Technical Championships in the Old Olympic Stadium in Garmish, Germany in 2001. He has also trained in South Korea and was the only foreigner at that time to train for three weeks with the Korean National squad often training and sparring with the 7 World WTF champions that were present. In 2002 Master Jervis was graded to 6th Dan black belt at a BTCB grading. He was graded by Master Park Soo Nam 9th Dan from Korea and has since been issued with a 6th Dan Kukkiwon certificate making his grade recognised the world over and particularly by the WTF.

Andy began his Taekwondo training in 1996 gaining his Black belt 1st Dan in 2001 and his 2nd Dan 2 years later. He has practised a number of other martial arts prior to taking up Taekwondo such as Judo for 4 years, Karate for 2 years and Hanmudo for 5years during which time he gained his Hanmudo black belt 1st Dan. He has been training with us at Norwich WTF since 2003 as he has now decided to concentrate on WTF Taekwondo as this Martial Art has now become his personal favourite. He also intends to develop his WTF competition ability by participating in a number of Kyorugi events around the country in the near future so is training very hard in preparation for these events. He was undefeated in 2006 as club Korugi Champion and is currently a 3rd Dan Black belt.
